FAQ

Q. Do I have to share a room?

A. No. However, the camp is beginning to reach the outer limits for housing especially in cabins. So if you are just one or two people staying in one of the 10-person cabins we may ask you to consider sharing with another couple or with other singles of the same gender.

Q. I’m a youth, will I be in the same cabin as my friends?

A. The cabins are divided up by age and gender: Cedar Girls or Boys are ages 9-11, Redwood Girls or Boys are ages 12-14, and Hickory Girls or Boys are ages 15-18ish (just finished high school). The ages are based on the last day of camp. We have found it detrimental to make exceptions to this in past years.

Q. HOw are classes divided?

A. Oaks (ages 0-3) are in a nursery during the morning class and discussion times. Firs (ages 4-6) have a class during the morning class and discussion times. Maples (ages 7-8) and Cedars (ages 9-11) have class the first hour and Crafts the second hour. Redwoods (ages 12-14), Hickories (ages 15-18ish), and Adults have class with the main speaker the first hour, then each group has their own discussion group for the second hour.

Q. Who will I see at meals?

A. Lunch and supper is eaten under the oak tree by the pavilion, weather permitting. Everyone will be there if they want to eat. Breakfast is divided between the Lodge Basement, and the Oak Tree. If you are staying in the Lodge or Shepherd’s Inn, or tent in area of the Lodge, you will be expected to eat breakfast in the Lodge basement. If you are staying in any of the cabins, RV’s, or in tents near the Pavilion, you will be expected to eat breakfast under the tree. After the first morning you may inform the cooks of where you want to eat on other mornings. If they aren’t informed you will be expected to be in the assigned breakfast location. This is just so that we have enough food at each location.
